He hitchhikes everywhere and found Japan more broadly super easy. The Japanese love to help a visitor, because there might be an adventure in doing so! 😁
Just search for Hard Off locations. A 20-60 train trip and some walking can get you to some excellent places. The Hard Off in Hachioji was really worth it.
